Asian MMA Championships:
Iran finishes runner-up with 14 medals
Iran claimed the runner-up spot behind the host at the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championships in China – courtesy of 14 medals, including two golds.
Moslem Fat’hollahi and Sajjad Azizi headlined Iran’s medal haul with double golds in their respective men’s events.
Ali Shademan, Ali-Akbar Ahmadi, Mohammadreza Sadeqi, and Hadi Abbasi settled for runner-up finishes in the men’s competition, with Fatemeh Akhlaqizadeh and Mobina Amiri adding two silvers in the women’s event.
Hasti Mir, Faezeh Eslamipour, Kamand Dehpahlevan were the Iranian female bronze medalists, while Amirmohammad Hadihamid, Ali-Akbar Taleshi, and Mohammad Jalilzadeh finished with consolation bronzes across different men’s categories.
