Vahidi appointed IRGC deputy commander

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi was appointed as the new deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.
Brigadier General Vahidi, who was serving as the deputy chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has replaced Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi as the IRGC deputy chief.
Brigadier General Vahidi has been appointed to the post at the suggestion of IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour under a decree issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei — the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Armed Forces.
The top general has the experience of holding senior posts, such as the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, minister of defense, interior minister, and deputy chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
