FM spox raps CNN for boosting Netanyahu’s anti-Iran ‘mythomania’

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei adamantly dismissed as “mythomania” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s move to disseminate decades of lies and propaganda about Iran’s nuclear program, after CNN levelled his repeated allegations in a recent show.
“These are lies and propaganda. CNN compiles 3 decades of Netanyahu's continuing false claims about Iran's nuclear program, each time warning that Iran was very close to developing a nuclear bomb,” Ismail Baqaei wrote in a post published on the social media platform X on Wednesday.
“This is 'mythomania',” he added.
Aired by CNN on Tuesday, the video splices together Netanyahu’s repeated baseless claims since 1996 about Iran’s nuclear activities, portraying Tehran as an imminent threat.
The broadcast comes as during a joint press conference with Netanyahu on Monday, US President Donald Trump brazenly spoke about military action, warning that the US would strike Iran’s missile capabilities and nuclear facilities if Tehran rebuilt its defenses.
“Now I hear that Iran is trying to build up again, and if they are, we are going to have to knock them down. We will knock them down. We will knock the hell out of them,” Trump said.
Iranian officials dismissed the remarks as reckless and inflammatory, warning that such language only fuels instability.
