National Museum to reopen with ‘Narrators of Ancient Iran’

The National Museum of Iran is set to reopen its doors on September 29 after a three-month hiatus due to the recent 12-day war between Israel and Iran.
The museum will debut the exhibition ‘Narrators of Ancient Iran,’ showcasing a curated selection of artifacts that highlight Iran's rich cultural heritage, ISNA reported.
National Museum of Iran Director Jebrael Nokandeh announced that the main halls of the museum will gradually resume operations starting Minday.
The reopening follows a directive from the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ministry, which had previously ordered the closure of museums and heritage sites during the 12-day war that began on June 13. Some collections had been temporarily moved to storage for safekeeping.
The National Museum of Iran is made up of two main sections, the Museum of Ancient Iran and the Museum of Islamic Archaeology and Art. It houses over 300,000 historical artifacts, including sculptures, inscriptions, seals, pottery, metal objects, coins, textiles and rare books, all representing the culture of Iran and neighboring regions.
The ‘Narrators of Ancient Iran’ exhibition aims to provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of Iran's ancient history, featuring artifacts from various periods, including the Paleolithic, Elamite, Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sassanid eras.
The exhibition is expected to attract both domestic and international visitors, contributing to the revitalization of Iran's cultural tourism sector.
