Armed Forces well-prepared to confront any adventurism: Top commanders
Iran’s top military commanders announced on Sunday that the country’s Armed Forces are fully prepared to counter any aggression and adventurism by enemies.
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, said during a Sunday meeting with Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour that the Armed Forces are “fully prepared to decisively confront any threat or possible aggression.”
“The great victories and remarkable achievements of the Armed Forces, particularly the IRGC and the Basij [volunteer forces], prove that the strategy of active deterrence and delivering powerful, brave, and crushing responses to threats is effective,” he said.
General Mousavi said that the unity of the Army and the IRGC remains “the factor behind the enemy’s defeat and the guarantor of Iran’s independence, national security, territorial integrity, and the protection of the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.”
For his part, General Pakpour underlined that the IRGC is ready for a “swift, decisive, and instructive” response to any adventurism by the enemy, pointing to the June aggression against Iran, in which “the Zionist enemy and the United States suffered defeat.”
A 12-day US-Israeli war that lasted from June 13 to 25 saw Iran’s Armed Forces launch determined defensive maneuvers and retaliatory strikes using hundreds of ballistic missiles, including hypersonic variants, and drones.
The reprisal targeted strategic Israeli military, nuclear, and industrial sites as well as al-Udeid, the US’s most important regional airbase, which is in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami, speaking at a military ceremony, reiterated that the Armed Forces carry the vital responsibility of defending the Islamic Republic’s independence and territorial integrity.
Hatami described the Armed Forces’ readiness as “permanent and invaluable,” saying, “We continuously monitor the enemy, and any mistake on their part will be met with a severe response.”
