Zarghami: Iran, China pillars of global civilization

Ezzatollah Zarghami, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, will open the ‘Glory of Ancient Persia’ exhibition in Shanghai, China.
Zarghami, who is visiting China for the exhibition’s inauguration, discussed the importance of the “Dialogue of Civilizations” initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In a post on his Telegram channel, Zarghami shared experiences from his visit to the National Museum of China in Beijing, ISNA wrote.
He highlighted the museum’s extensive collection, which spans from the Paleolithic era to contemporary times, and praised its significant expansion completed in 2011.
Zarghami also emphasized the necessity of recognizing civilizations for true dialogue, a concept he noted Western nations often dismiss.
He remarked that Iran and China are crucial pillars of global civilization and expressed optimism about future cultural and tourism collaborations between the two nations.
The ‘Glory of Ancient Persia’ exhibition will officially open in Shanghai on June 12.
The exhibition features 211 historical artifacts and five meticulously recreated objects spanning from the Iron Age to the Safavid period, offering a glimpse into over 3,000 years of Iranian culture and art. The items on display include metalwork, ceramics, and precious stones, showcasing the rich history and craftsmanship of ancient Persia.
