‘Twenty-one Weeks Later’ awarded at Korean festival

The Iranian short film ‘Twenty-one Weeks Later’, directed by Nasrin Mohammadpour, won the Sonje Award jointly with the Korean film ‘My Dear’ by Jeon Do-hee and Kim So-hee at the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), held in South Korea from October 4 to 13.
Banafshe Rezaie, Leila Hosseinzadeh, Soudabeh Bahraminejad, and Parisa Asgari are the cast members of the short film, Mehr news agency reported.
Like her previous productions, Mohammadpour ‘s ‘Twenty-One Weeks Later’ features women’s issues. This film depicts issues pertaining to mothers.
The festival attracted more than 140,000 movie lovers to the southeastern port city for the past 10 days.
The 28th edition of the BIFF screened 209 films from 70 countries at four theaters, including 88 world and international premieres, its organizer said.
