Occupying a 160-square-meter pavilion, Iran is offering a collection of 1,200 titles, covering topics such as religion, resistance literature, the Sacred Defense, Palestine, classic and contemporary literature, children’s and adolescent literature, Iranian studies, arts, tourism, and academic publications, ketab.ir reported.
Inside Iran’s pavilion, books from 60 publishers in the country are on display. Notable publishers like Surey-e Mehr, Boostan-e Ketab, Afra, Hodhod, Beh Nashr, and Nakhl-e Sabz are also displaying, directly offering their works to visitors.
What sets the Iranian pavilion apart is that more than 80 percent of the exhibited works are available in the Arabic language, aiming to reach a wider audience.
Furthermore, the Iranian pavilion at this round of the book fair distinguishes itself through its visual appeal and cultural identity. The pavilion’s visual design incorporates a mixture of Iranian tradition, culture, and arts, which has been well-received by the fair’s attendees.
During the opening ceremony, Lebanese Culture Minister Mohammad Wissam al-Murtada extended his greetings to the resistance front and the Palestinian people.
He stated, “We organized this fair this year because our homeland is the land of thoughts and history. We emphasize that we are victorious through culture, and Beirut will remain the eternal capital of thought.”
The book fair which began on October 13 and will run through October 22 at the Beirut Forum, aims to allow visitors to explore a wide range of publishing offers.
