King Raam to stage first post-war concert

The first major live music concert in Tehran since the suspension of cultural events in March and early April following attacks by US and Israeli forces, which began on February 28, will be held from April 24 to 27 in Tehran, as Iranian post-punk artist King Raam prepares to take the stage in a symbolic return of public performance to the capital.
The event is being produced by Sajjad Afsharian. The production team includes performers Mohammad Shariat, Taha Mazaheri, Erfan Aseminejad and Faraz Keshvari, alongside sound engineer Sassan Bakhshi and graphic designer Amir Sedaghati.
Born in the southern city of Bushehr in 1981, King Raam, whose real name is Ramin Seyed Emami, first rose to prominence as lead singer of Hypernova in Tehran before relocating with the band to New York City in 2006.
He later launched a solo career, releasing albums including ‘Songs of the Wolves,’ ‘The Vulture’ and ‘Until A Thousand and ….’, and previously performed in Tehran in 2015 in the stage production ‘Scarlet from 1980s’ along with Afsharian.
