Top commander: Iran won’t compromise on its security, territorial integrity
Speaker says foreign intervention rejected in popular rallies
Iran’s top commander said on Tuesday that the country would not compromise on its security, independence and territorial integrity after deadly protests and riots over economic woes that had swept the country for more than two weeks came to an end.
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi said that the United States and Israel unleashed “Daesh terrorists” among Iranian protesters in an attempt to “compensate” their defeat in the 12-day aggression against Iran in June, according to IRNA.
“The enemies should know that security forces will not allow any terrorist trained by arrogant powers to freely conduct acts of terrorism inside Iran,” he added.
The top commander also appreciated Iranians who took to the streets nationwide on Monday to denounce the terrorist acts during the US-Israeli backed riots.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also on Tuesday lauded the pro-Islamic Establishment rallies, saying that the Iranian people had “succeeded in foiling the plots hatched by enemies.”
Qalibaf said the nation rejected the foreign states’ intervention in the internal affairs of country by their massive turnout.
He further said that the authorities were committed to resolve economic issues, which had worsened in the wake of the national currency devaluation in recent months.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also in a message on Monday praised the Iranians for tuning out in their millions in the demonstrations, saying that “the nation showed its national unity to the world.”
He described the nationwide marches as a “warning” to the US leaders that they should not rely on their mercenaries and to stop their acts of deception against the Iranian nation.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said the Iranian nation gave a “firm response” to the vicious ploys by the enemy by participating the gatherings.
He said the people’s huge turnout demonstrated their determination in safeguarding the country and thwarting the enemy plots.
