50 Iranologists from 21 countries to convene in Tehran

Fifty leading Iranologists from 21 countries are set to gather in Tehran for the International Iranology Summit, organizers announced, underlining the central role of tourism in Iranological studies.
The three-day event, scheduled from November 15 to 17 at the University of Science and Culture, will feature a dedicated session exploring the intersection of tourism and Iranology, organizers said, Mehr News Agency reported.
“Tourism is always at the heart of Iranology,” noted Saeed Hashemi, dean of the university’s Faculty of Tourism, during a press briefing on Sunday.
The summit will assemble eight prominent Iranologists from Iraq, Lebanon, Armenia, Turkey, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, many specializing in cultural heritage and literary tourism. They will join Iranian academics in discussions aimed at broadening public awareness of Iranological research.
Hashemi highlighted the growing collaboration between universities and the summit, describing the integration of academic institutions as “a major step in scientificizing” the field and communicating Iran’s cultural landscape to global audiences. Each participating university will act as a supporting arm for the summit, contributing expertise and facilitating scholarly exchange.
