Iran’s fresh strikes target Israel’s main airport, biological research center
Iran conducted fresh strikes on Israel’s military targets in the occupied territories on Sunday in response to the regime’s aggression against Iran.
The 20th wave of Iran’s strikes as part of the Operation True Promise 3 on Israel started on Sunday morning.
A combination of long-range liquid and solid-fuel missiles with powerful warheads and new tactics to penetrate Israel’s defense systems were used in the strike, the spokesperson of the Operation True Promise 3 Brigadier General Iman Tajik said in a statement.
Air raid sirens heard across Israel after Iran launched missiles in rapid succession, targeting key sites. The Israeli army said Iran launched two volleys with a total of 27 missiles.
Tajik said that Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, Ness Ziona biological research center south of Tel Aviv, and alternative command and control centers were targeted in the attacks.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said it used multi-warhead Kheibar-Shekan ballistic missile for the first time against Israel in the latest operation.
The Times of Israel newspaper reported broad devastation at impact sites in Tel Aviv and nearby Ness Ziona biological research center, where at least 86 people were wounded.
Meanwhile several missiles and drones were fired towards the occupied territories early on Sunday during the 19th wave of Iran’s operation.
The attacks targeted the regime’s industrial centers affiliated with its military industry.
The strikes on Israel came in response to the regime’s unprovoked attacks on Iran which have so far claimed the lives of more than 400 Iranians and wounded over 3,000 others.
Iran’s strikes also came hours after the United States carried out a bombing attack on three nuclear sites in Iran.
US President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”
The attack involved submarines and stealth B-2 bombers.
Since June 13, the Israeli regime has carried out nearly daily strikes on Iran, including residential buildings, in an unprovoked act of aggression. More than 400 people including top military officials have lost their lives in the attacks.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new military commanders and said “life would turn bleak for Israel”. Shortly afterwards, the Iranian Armed Forces promised to “open the gates of hell” to Israel and began waves of punitive strikes inside the Israeli-occupied territories, hitting sensitive sites in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa, among other cities, with missiles and drones.
Iran’s attacks have killed more than 20 people in Israel and caused widespread devastation across the occupied territories.
