Iran’s indigenous nuclear tech imperishable by attacks: IRGC
Pezeshkian says Israeli defeat forced US to enter war
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Sunday that the “criminal regime of the United States”, in full coordination with the Israeli regime, carried out an “unlawful military attack” on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, committing an unprecedented and blatant crime that clearly violates the UN Charter, international law, the NPT, and the fundamental principles of respect for the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The IRGC underlined that Iran’s “indigenous and peaceful nuclear technology” will not be obliterated by any assault. On the contrary, the attack will strengthen the resolve of Iran’s young and committed scientists for advancement and development.
The statement went on to say that the great Iranian nation and the world are fully aware that the IRGC recognises the arena of this combined and allout imposed war very well, and “will never be cowed by the hubbub of [US President Donald] Trump and the criminal gang ruling the White House and Tel Aviv.”
Following terrorist attacks by the Israeli regime in recent days, in the early hours of Sunday, the Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan were subjected to a savage assault contrary to international law and especially the NPT, the statement added.
The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) also affirmed that the aggression contravenes international law and, regrettably, occurred amid the international nuclear agency’s indifference, or rather, its complicity.
The AEOI stated that it expects the international community, while condemning lawlessness based on jungle rules, to stand with Iran in securing its legitimate rights.
It assured that despite the malicious plots of its enemies, the industry will not be halted, owing to the resolve of thousands of revolutionary and motivated scientists and specialists, and is the result of the blood of nuclear martyrs.
After the US offensive, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that the American attack on Iran’s nuclear sites has not led to elevated nuclear radiation beyond the affected facilities.
The director of Iran’s National Nuclear Safety Centre also confirmed that no radioactive contamination or nuclear radiation has been detected outside the sites.
According to the Centre, despite this morning’s criminal action against nuclear installations, due to previously implemented precautions and measures, no signs of radiation or nuclear pollution have been observed outside the affected compounds.
Pezeshkian: US dragged into war due to Israeli fallout
President Masoud Pezeshkian, condemning last night’s US strike on some nuclear facilities, said the move demonstrated that the United States is the principal enabler of hostile actions by the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pezeshkian added that while the US initially sought to conceal its role, after the definitive and deterrent response of Iran’s armed forces and the clear failure of the Zionist regime, it had no choice but to intervene.
In response, Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations, in an urgent letter to the Security Council following the American attack on Iranian soil, stated that, “the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns these aggressive acts, unprovoked and premeditated”, and demanded an emergency Security Council meeting and the strongest possible condemnation of such strikes.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also condemned in the strongest possible terms, the United States’ brutal military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities as a grave and unprecedented violation of the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the international law.
The ministry stressed that the war-mongering and lawless regime of the United States of America is held fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of the egregious act of aggression and heinous crime.
