Produced by the International Affairs of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), the 19-minute and 33-second animation is co-directed by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, ISNA wrote.
The film is scheduled to be screened six times during the festival according to the planned schedule.
The short animation’s synopsis reads, “A former captain, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after an accident, lives with his daughter in a secluded house by the sea. They must face the challenges of a difficult life. Despite the captain’s deep desire to be a sacrificing and caring father, he struggles to connect with his daughter in the way he wishes. One morning, an unforeseen event occurs, changing their lives forever. Whether this event is a source of new hope or a new problem remains to be seen.”
The festival accepts short narrative, animated, documentary, and experimental films up to 40 minutes in duration, receiving a record-breaking 9,400 submissions this year, marking a 14% increase from the previous year. Approximately 70 short films have been selected across various categories.
