Zarepour shared the news on an Iranian social media platform, stating that following the successful test of the country’s latest generation of biological capsules using the indigenous Salman launcher few days ago, the gradual implementation of the 10-year space industry plan is set to lead to the deployment of an Iranian astronaut into space by 2029.
The 10-year space plan was approved in 2022 by the Supreme Space Council, IRNA reported.
Recent launching of the biological capsule demonstrated the capability to provide life-sustaining conditions for living organisms.
The advanced technological features of the capsule include autonomous mission execution. The system autonomously carries out its mission based on pre-launch commands, with operations performed in the 130-kilometer orbit.
