Iran produced 20.6 million tons of grains in 2022 and according to FAO prediction, will produce the same amount in 2023, the report added, Tasnim news agency reported.
Iran’s production of wheat will increase by 500,000 tons in 2023 compared to a year earlier, reaching 13.5 million tons in the current year.
FAO had put Iran’s grains reserves at the end of 2022 at 12.5 million tons while the country had produced 11.8 million tons of grains in 2021.
Accordingly, Iran accounted for about 1.5 percent of the world’s total grain reserves at the end of 2022.
