Iran, Uzbekistan to strengthen agro-technical cooperation

Tehran and Tashkent discussed strengthening agricultural technical cooperation in water and soil projects in dealing with water scarcity.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iran Bakhodir Barotovich Abdullaev in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Iran Safdar Niazi Shahraki discussed developing bilateral cooperation, as well as following up on the agreements of the 15th meeting of the joint commission of Iran-Uzbekistan, which was held last month in Tashkent, IRNA reported on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the priorities and expectations of the Uzbek side were discussed, and the readiness and full welcome for the development of cooperation was emphasized by the Uzbek ambassador.
Abdullaev noted that Iran enjoys valuable experience in dealing with water scarcity, which is one of the reasons for Uzbekistan’s interest and preference for deepening technical cooperation with Iran.
During the meeting, the Iranian official explained the water and soil plans and capacities, and offered proposals for further cooperation.
