Speaking on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding with Lebanese Minister of Labor Mustafa Bayram on Sunday, Mortazavi said the two sides prepared a cooperation agreement that will be inked to pave the way for extensive cooperation.
“So, we are ready to share our experiences with Lebanon,” he said, according to IRNA.
Lebanon is an important part of the Islamic world, while Iran enjoys vast relations with Islamic countries, particularly the Arab country, the Iranian minister said, adding that we consider Lebanon dear.
“So, defending the country is considered defending the Islamic Ummah.”
Bayram, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic for standing by other nations and for the price Iran pays for being subject to sanctions, but it has been able to turn sanctions into opportunities via embarking on resistance.
The Lebanese minister further stated, “Due to Lebanon’s internal problems, we are under a cruel siege that has had economic and social impacts, but despite numerous woes, we are trying to serve the people and, on this trip, we are looking for cooperation and use of the experiences of the Islamic Republic to turn threats into opportunities.”
