The Doha International Book Fair, which holds a distinguished reputation in the region, is one of the oldest and largest international book fairs. It has garnered significant interest from Arab and foreign countries since its inception in 1972 under the supervision of Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariya. Originally scheduled every two years, the fair transitioned to an annual event in 2002.
Alongside the book fair, numerous cultural events such as seminars, lectures, and workshops take place, adding further enrichment to the overall experience. The Shia communities in Qatar, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iranian Arabic speakers residing in Qatar expressed great enthusiasm for the presented books.
Iran’s House of Books and Literature, making its seventh appearance at the exhibition, showcased the country’s publishing industry through a 36-square-meter booth. The booth featured an extensive collection of 800 titles from 60 publishers, covering diverse subjects including children and young adult literature, rare books, Persian language instruction, Qur’anic themes, interfaith dialogue, and more.
The 32nd edition of the book fair commenced on June 12 and welcomed the participation of Iran, extending a warm invitation to book enthusiasts until June 21.
