IRGC anniversary reveals Imam Khomeini’s foresight: Bagheri

The anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) is a testament to Imam Khomeini’s intelligence and foresight.
In a letter sent to the Chief Commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami on Saturday, Mohammad Bagheri congratulated him on the occasion, according to Mehr News Agency.
The chief of staff of the Armed Forces pointed out that the role the IRGC has played in Iran’s greatest events including the Iraqi-imposed war (1980-1988) and the subsequent reconstruction efforts echoes the famous saying of the late founder of the Islamic Republic: “Without the IRGC, there wouldn’t have been a country.”
“Every fair person with an honest conscience acknowledges that this holy institution, along with other armed forces, shines today because of its authority, readiness, and all-round strategic capabilities,” he said.
Bagheri added that the IRGC is among the important pillars that protect the Islamic Revolution and the establishment; not only do they bring peace and security to the great nation of Iran but act as a deterrent power for the country.
“The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has elicited feelings of fear and anger at the camps of Iran’s various enemies.”
He thanked Almighty God for endlessly blessing the faithful and brave Armed Forces of Iran, especially the proud guards of the Islamic Revolution, in strengthening the country and not being stymied by any threat from the enemy front, but rather becoming more determined.
