Pakistan emerges as sole viable mediator between Tehran, Washington
After forty days of conflict between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other had reached a flashpoint for the region and the world, Pakistan ultimately managed to bring around both parties to agree to a ceasefire and resume talks under its hosting. Pakistan is stepping into the mediator role at a time when the traditional intermediary, Oman, has been unable to step up to the plate due to its involvement in the recent war.
