Era of ‘cost-free’ threats has come to an end: IRGC
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday warned the United States and Israel about new aggression against Iran, stressing that, “The era of cost-free threats has come to an end, and any act of aggression will be met with a painful and regret-inducing response".
The IRGC issued the statement to mark the second anniversary of the “Operation True Promise 2” which was Iran’s answer to Israel’s targeted assassinations of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Haasan Nasrallah and senior IRGC commander, General Abbas Nilforushan.
In the statement, the IRGC said the operation has not only punished enemy aggression and crimes amid the “deadly silence” of international bodies, but has also sent a clear message to Iran’s adversaries, particularly Israel.
“The era of cost-free threats has come to an end, and any act of aggression will be met with a painful and regret-inducing response,” the statement said.
October 2 marks the anniversary of the historic “Operation True Promise 2” which was carried out by its Aerospace Force in 2024.
Iran fired waves of precision-guided missiles and drones at targets in Israeli-occupied territories, striking the heart of the occupied lands and exposing the fragility of Israel’s military deterrence to the world.
The statement again characterized the operation as retaliation for aggression and crimes committed by Iran’s adversaries, accusing international bodies of remaining silent. It said the attack had delivered a direct warning to Israel that further incursions would carry consequences.
The IRGC added that the strength demonstrated by the IRGC, alongside other Iranian Armed Forces, during the second and third US-Israeli imposed wars on Iran forced the United States to plead for a ceasefire.
The IRGC assured the Iranian people and regional nations supporting the Axis of Resistance that its forces are at the highest level of readiness, with their fingers on the trigger to give an immediate, decisive, painful and regret-inducing response to any aggression or potential miscalculation by the “Great Satan’s camp” and its regional proxies.
