Iran’s Cultural Days in Russia to bring together 168 artists
Iran will showcase its cultural and artistic heritage across four Russian cities this October, with Culture Minister Abbas Salehi expected to attend alongside 168 Iranian artists and cultural figures, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said Friday in Moscow.
The program will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Astrakhan, building on reciprocal cultural exchanges between Iran and Russia. Jalali said the delegation’s size was chosen to commemorate 168 Iranian students who were killed at a school in Minab on February 28.
Held under the banner “Minab’s Story in the Russian Land, a Gift of Friendship and Resistance,” the events will combine exhibitions, performances, film screenings, academic forums and sports programs. Organizers also plan business-oriented meetings aimed at bringing together Iranian and Russian cultural and creative-industry professionals.
The National Orchestra of Iran will headline the artistic program, performing in St. Petersburg before appearing at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre. Visual-art exhibitions will feature calligraphy, miniature painting, photography, sculpture, handicrafts, Persian carpets, cuisine, fashion and other facets of Iranian culture.
