Araghchi emphasized: "This cowardly terrorist act, in clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, constitutes a direct assault on the most fundamental principles of international law, including the prohibition of the use of force, the equality of sovereign states, and the inviolability and immunity of heads of state."
Araghchi stressed: "Such an act creates a dangerous and unprecedented precedent, targeting the fundamental norms of state sovereignty and civilized behavior among nations. Heads of state are the embodiment of their nations' sovereignty and, according to international law, are inviolable, respected, and immune, which is essential for the independent performance of their official duties."
Araghchi continued: "Moreover, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was not only the highest-ranked official of the country but also a religious figure revered by tens of millions of Muslims in the region and around the world. Such an attack will have profound and far-reaching repercussions, for which the perpetrators bear full responsibility."
