Shahdab reclaims top spot as Iranian Volleyball Super League resumes
The Iranian Volleyball Super League resumed after a three-week hiatus with a series of concentrated matches held in Tehran, bringing notable changes to the top of the standings.
According to Varzesh3, the matches were played in a centralized format at the Yazdani-Khorram Hall of the Volleyball Federation and the Tehran Volleyball House. On the first day of the resumed competition on Friday, several key matches took place, significantly impacting the positions of the league’s top teams.
The most important match featured Shahdab of Yazd and Chadormalu of Ardakan, the first and third-placed teams in the standings. In a closely contested game, Shahdab maintained their impressive form and defeated Chadormalu 3-1.
In this match, Seyed Mohammad Mousavi once again demonstrated his exceptional abilities. The experienced star, at 38 years old, delivered a brilliant performance, leading his team on the court and contributing significantly to Shahdab’s victory with an attack success rate of around 80 percent. Mousavi, who separated from Foolad of Sirjan during the summer transfer window, quickly became a key player in Shahdab’s lineup.
This victory came shortly after Foolad temporarily took the top spot with a win over Pas of Gorgan, but Shahdab quickly reclaimed first place.
During the twelfth week of matches, there were few changes in the league table, with the most notable being the swap between the third and fourth positions. Sepahan secured a win against Sanatgaran Omid of Tehran, moving up to third place and pushing Chadormalu down to fourth.
However, these changes are likely just the beginning of fluctuations in the standings. As the season progresses, the tight competition among teams promises further surprises, shifts, and intense battles in the Iranian Volleyball Super League.
