North of 59K projects launched countrywide in key infrastructure sectors
Over 59,000 projects in housing, transportation, and meteorology — valued at more than 94,000 billion tomans (≈ $1.13 billion) in domestic investment and 119 million USD plus 39 million euros in foreign investment — were inaugurated via video conference in the presence of President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday.
On Saturday, 59,264 projects across road infrastructure, urban development, transportation, meteorology, and housing were inaugurated, president.ir reported.
These projects include 43,521 housing units (14,521 urban and 29,000 rural units), the allocation of 11,500 plots of land for the Population Youth Plan and 4 urban regeneration projects.
Additionally, 4,219 transportation projects were operationalized. Other notable projects inaugurated include 20 meteorological initiatives and the provision of 16,200 hectares of land for urban housing development.
Airport, roads projects
Under the Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), 10 airport projects — including surveillance radars, air traffic control systems, and airport expansion initiatives were inaugurated. Among those, the first domestically produced MSSR-MODE S radar was unveiled at Abadan Airport in Khuzestan Province, marking a flagship achievement.
Also, a key highlight of the virtual inauguration ceremony attended by the president and Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh was the commissioning of 136 kilometers of roads and highways across six provinces.
In the aviation sector, 2,691 new flight seats and 8 helicopters (adding 84 seats) entered into service. An air taxi route between Karaj and Qazvin, utilizing three MSSR aircraft was also launched.
Addition of two aircraft to national fleet
The Islamic Republic of Iran Airlines (Homa), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, expanded its fleet with two A330-200 aircraft (adding 528 seats) and procured, equipped, and prepared 11 aircraft engines, representing an investment of 119 million USD.
Under road maintenance and transportation, 4,161 projects — including the elimination of accident-prone areas, bridge construction, lighting installations, and road widening were launched. A standout project is the 50-kilometer rural road in the Bashagard region of Hormozgan Province.
