NIORDC: Record set as fuel supply to power plants surges by 40%
The head of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) announced a 40% jump in fuel supply operations to power plants over an 11-month period this year, stating, “Delivering 19.5 billion liters of gas oil and fuel oil to power plants sets an unprecedented record.”
Mohammad Sadeq Azimifar commended the efforts of management, staff, and 37 regional teams during a fuel coordination meeting for achieving historic milestones in power plant fuel supply, noting, “This comes at a time when liquid fuel deliveries to power plants during the same period last year stood at roughly 13.5 billion liters, highlighting a 40% rise in this sector.”
The deputy oil minster also touched on ongoing efforts to distribute gasoline to the public, adding, “Alongside the 19.5 billion liters of gas oil and fuel oil already supplied to power plants—a figure that doesn’t even include the final month’s data—gasoline distribution is also in full swing, operating at full capacity without a hitch.”
Meanwhile, Keramat Veis Karami, the deputy head of NIORDC, emphasized the significance of setting a historic record by distributing approximately 54.5 million liters of gas oil last month.
“Ramping up daily gas oil production by 12 million liters with existing infrastructure underscores the extraordinary work put in here, which deserves high praise,” Veis Karami said.
He further pointed to the company’s readiness to keep up with fuel demand for power plants amid forecasted cold weather, saying, “We are fully geared up to pull out all the stops in securing stable fuel supplies for power plants and delivering seamless services to the public.”
