Putin made the remarks in a Thursday meeting with Secretary General of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian on the sidelines of a meeting of BRICS security officials in Russia’s port city of St. Petersburg, Press TV reported.
The Russian president noted that his country is determined to cooperate with Iran in all fields, stating that the volume of trade exchanges between Moscow and Tehran has increased by almost 10 percent in the first six months of the current year.
Addressing the BRICS meeting, Ahmadian called for the establishment of an anti-sanctions alliance to promote trade and financial security among the BRICS group of emerging economies.
The SNSC chief said it is necessary for BRICS and the Global South countries to join hands to ensure security in various fields on the basis of multilateralism and new world order.
