Iran rejects claims of meddling in US vote

Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations dismissed on Friday claims regarding the country’s intentions to interfere in the 2024 US presidential election via cyberattacks, asserting that Iran has no objectives or plans for cyber aggression and does not interfere in what is a domestic matter for the US.
“Iran has been a victim of various aggressive cyber operations against its infrastructure, public service centers, and industries,” the mission said in response to inquiries about Microsoft’s allegations of Iranian interference in the upcoming US vote.
“Iran’s cyber capabilities are defensive and proportionate to the threats it faces,” it added.
The mission to the UN in New York underlined, “Iran has no aims or activities to sway the US elections. Much of these accusations fall within the framework of psychological operations to artificially energize election campaigns.”
