Pezeshkian a symbol of trust in government

Iran’s President-elect Massoud Pezeshkian has put in place a mechanism – an advisory council, to be precise – for choosing ministers, with an eye to bringing efficient and competent people on board. This mechanism is a reflection of his personal viewpoint. His words on national cooperation and making use of the country’s capabilities ring true; he has no intention of misleading the people. Pezeshkian has risen to power outside of the political and factional boxes, and his honesty, openness, and integrity have stood him in good stead on this journey. However, what’s more, important is that it doesn’t matter who becomes minister. Whoever takes on this role must work within the parameters set by the president. While the cabinet comprises no more than 30 ministers, the executive branch has a host of managers and experts at various levels, and these skilled individuals need to be kept on.
