During a meeting with members of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance’s Architecture Council on Monday, Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili highlighted the significance of architecture in cultural events, IRNA reported.
He stated that the National Document of Architecture and Urbanism has been referred to the Art Council and is ready for presentation at the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution.
Esmaeili emphasized the collaboration with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and the Supreme Council of Urban Planning to advance discussions on architecture.
He noted that the Tourism Ministry, along with cooperation from various cultural sectors including broadcasting, will play a pivotal role in this initiative.
He underscored the need to highlight historical classifications and contemporary differences in architecture, particularly between Safavid, Ilkhanid, and Seljuk periods.
Esmaeili added that contemporary lifestyle is significantly influenced by architectural styles, emphasizing the need for architectural aesthetics to align with cultural values.
The minister concluded by addressing the
detachment of architecture from Iran’s artistic sphere and stressed the importance of reintegrating it into the field of art.
