Taremi finds the net as Porto beats Vizela
Mahdi Taremi was on the scoresheet as Porto defeated FC Vizela 2-0 in Liga Portugal on Sunday.
The Iranian international, whose double assists helped Porto to a 4-1 comeback victory over Antwerp in the Champions League in the midweek, got the Dragons off the mark from the spot after Brazilian Evanilson was brought down in the box by the host center-back Bruno Wilson midway through the first half.
This was only a second goal in nine league outings – third in all competitions – this season for Porto striker, who was the leading marksman in the Portuguese top flight in the previous campaign with 22 strikes.
Canadian midfielder Stephen Eustáquio doubled the lead for the visiting side right before the interval, when his left-footed effort from inside the box found the top corner.
The victory saw third-placed Porto move level on points with defending champion Benfica, which was held to a 1-1 home draw by Casa Pia on Saturday.
