Iran-Turkey trade rises to $13.4b

Iran’s minister of roads and urban development said that the trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey have increased to over $13.4 billion.
In his meeting with Turkey’s Ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kırlangıç on Monday, Mehrdad Bazrpash stated that the two countries enjoy high potential to further enhance bilateral trade, Tasnim news agency reported.
Iran’s roads minister said that the incumbent government attaches great importance to its relations with neighbors within the framework of the good neighborliness policy as the Republic of Turkey has a special position and importance for Tehran.
Benefiting from having many cultural and religious commonalities and being located on the historical Silk Road, the two countries have played a leading, effective role in regional equations, he emphasized.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Turkey in the near future to participate in the 8th Meeting of the Iran-Turkey Supreme Council of Cooperation and explore avenues for enhancing mutual ties, Bazrpash added.
Bazrpash also congratulated the National Day of Turkey to the government and noble nation of the neighboring country.
