According to IRNA, the event will be held in collaboration between Iran's Artists' House and the Japanese Embassy as part of the Japanese Cultural Month event.
As per the schedule, the films ‘Somebody’s Flowers,’ directed by Yusuke Okuda, will be shown on October 31, ‘A Long Goodbye,’ directed by Ryota Nakano, on November 1, and ‘The Lone Ume Tree,’ directed by Wajima Kotaro, on November 2.
‘Somebody’s Flowers’ tells the story of a young man named Takaki, who has lost his older brother and goes to visit his parents. At the same time, a flowerpot from the top of their building falls on their neighbor's head, resulting in his death. Takaki tries to figure out if his father had any role in this incident.
‘A Long Goodbye’ portrays the members of the Higashi family who have come together from near and far to celebrate their father's 70th birthday but learn of their father's illness. The mother and two daughters discover that their father has the ability to recall memories that they had long forgotten.
‘The Lone Ume Tree’ depicts the life of an elderly woman named Tamako, who lives with her 50-year-old autistic son, Tadao. In their home, there is a tree whose branches create a disturbance for the neighbors, but Tadao has a strong attachment to this tree.
