Iran’s handwoven carpet of Bijar globally registered at WIPO


IRNA – Iran’s renowned handwoven carpet from Bijar, famously known as the “Iron Carpet of Iran,” has achieved global recognition and protection as an enduring human heritage and an esteemed international brand. This significant milestone was officially documented at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Switzerland.
Hamidreza Amani, the Chief Executive Officer of Kurdestan Industrial Towns Company added that over the past three years, considerable attention has been devoted to the international registration process of the two prominent handwoven carpet brands originating from Kurdestan Province.
Amani expressed his optimism, stating, “Currently, the globally recognized Bijar iron carpets have paved the way, and without a doubt, Sanandaj rugs will soon follow suit in their international registration.”
He emphasized that this international registration will immensely contribute to augmenting the sales and export potential of these invaluable products on a global scale.

Iran to bolster Farsi courses at Syrian, Lebanese universities

IRNA – Allameh Tabataba’i University of Iran entered into agreements with universities in Syria and Lebanon to enhance the quality of Persian language courses offered in these two Arab nations, as stated by the university’s chancellor.
Under these agreements, Iran committed to facilitating the opportunity for ten outstanding Persian language students from Syrian and Lebanese universities to study in Iran for one semester. In reciprocity, Iranian students pursuing Arabic language studies will have the chance to study at universities in both Syria and Lebanon for one semester as well.
Abdollah Mo’tamedi, during his visit to the two Arab countries, emphasized the positive impact of the trip in strengthening the teaching of Persian language at universities in Syria and Lebanon.
This visit included visits to prominent Syrian universities in Damascus, Aleppo, and Homs, along with several academic institutions in Lebanon.
