In its latest statistics, the UK Department for Business and Trade said the trade exchanges with Iran from January to April 2023 reached £27 million (equivalent to $34 million), Tasnim news agency reported.
It shows a 17 percent hike compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, the value of trade exchanges between the two countries reached £23 million from January to April 2022.
The UK import of products from Iran in the first four months of the current year stood at £7 million (equivalent to $9 million), which shows no considerable change compared to the same period last year.
But UK export of products to Iran from January to April 2023 hit £20 million (equivalent to $25 million), registering a 25 percent growth.
This is while the UK had exported £16 million worth of products to Iran from January to April 2022.
According to this report, the value of trade exchanges between the two countries reached £696 million in 2022, showing a 72 percent hike compared to a year before.
