A culture of environment a necessity for Iran: Tehran Governor

Tehran Governor Alireza Fakhari has underlined the importance of paying greater attention to environmental issues, stating that building a culture of environmentalism is an undeniable necessity.
Fakhari emphasized the need for environmental cultural events and necessary training to pursue this goal, in remarks reported by ISNA.
Fakhari noted the duty of all individuals to preserve the environment, adding that progress in human knowledge and social welfare creates new needs that cannot be met solely through economic development. The governor added that damage to natural resources, national heritage, and human livelihoods is directly tied to neglect of the environment.
Fakhari stressed that environmental concerns are no longer limited to local or even national scopes, but rather impact all aspects of human life on a global scale. To spread awareness of these issues, he called for the use of all possible resources, including environmental events like the National Environment Award.
As the 13th edition of the award approaches, Fakhari expressed hope that it will serve as a platform for sharing ideas and achievements related to environmental protection. He concluded by emphasizing that promoting a culture of environmental responsibility is a crucial step
toward sustainable development in Iran.
