Ghazali Cinema Town, established in 1971 as the hub of Iranian cinema, covers a wide area, about 10 hectares. Some of the old districts, streets and buildings of Tehran are beautifully simulated in this area, and they were used as locations for making historical, religious and social films, irantourtravel.com reported.
Like a magical time machine, Ghazzali Cinema Town take you to Old Tehran. As the home of Iranian cinema, Ghazali has seen the production of many old Iranian films.
“Hezar Dastan,” a very popular Iranian TV series, directed by Ali Hatami in 1978, is about Iran’s social and political situation during the rules of the kings, Ahmad Shah and Reza Shah, with fabulous music, a professional cast, and beautiful locations like nostalgic cafés, shops, the Grand Hotel and cobblestone streets. It is considered to be the first project filmed in the cinema town. The very famous and popular Iranian movie, Saint Mary (1997), is another project done in Ghazali Cinema Town. Several movies about the Iran-Iraq war, the Imam Ali TV series, Joseph the Prophet, and many more Iranian movies were also filmed in the town.
Great efforts have been made to bring forth the replica of famous historical buildings which, through the passage of time, have been witness to various incidents.
The most exciting thing about visiting this place was meeting some of the happy puppets that played TV shows for children in the past. In general, Ghazali Cinema Town of Tehran has always been a popular place for Iranians and foreign tourists.
